Christophe Hurlin
University of Orléans
Christophe Hurlin earned his PhD in Economics from Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne (1999) and is Professor of Economics at the Université d’Orléans since 2002. Additionally, he is Senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) from 2022 to 2027, serves on the scientific council of the ACPR since 2018 and has worked as a Short Term Consultant for the World Bank.
His research topics are financial econometrics, econometrics, financial risk management, and reproducible research.
Throughout his career, he received several awards, including being an Academic Fellow at Institut Louis Bachelier in 2021, and awards from the French Association of Finance (AFFI) for outstanding conference papers and publications.
Cristophe Hurlin has held leadership positions at the University of Orléans, such as Head of the Master Program in Econometrics and Applied Statistics, Director of the Laboratoire d’Économie d’Orléans, and various roles in the management of research programs and academic departments.
Marcel Voia
University of Orléans
Marcel Voia has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario (2005) and is Professor of Economics at the University of Orléans since 2018.
Previously, Marcel Voia was a faculty member at Carleton University (2004 to 2018), where he served as the Co-director of the Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics (CMFE) from 2011 to 2019. Since 2019, he has held the role of
Special Advisor with the Currency Department at the Bank of Canada. He is also an Associate Researcher with the University of Bucharest (since 2021).
His work covers the fields of econometrics and applied econometrics, particularly in areas such as labor, industrial organization, public economics, fintech and health.

Cristina Strango
University of Orléans
Cristina Strango is a young PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Orléans (France) and West University of Timisoara (Romania), under international co-supervision.
Her main research interests are focused on Public Economics, International Economics, Energy Economics, and Applied Economics.
Mélie Henault
University of Orléans
Mélie Henault is the responsable administrative at the Laboratoire d’Économie d’Orléans (LÉO).
ORGANIZING INSTITUTIONS
LEO is a research unit of the University of Orléans (France), created on January 1st, 1996. It includes a hundred members, whose research covers three main areas of expertise: Macroeconomics and Finance, Econometrics, International Economics and Sustainable Development.
Founded in 1306 by Pope Clement V, the University of Orléans is one of the oldest European universities.
The UO is renowned across Europe. It closed its doors during the French Revolution in 1793, like every other university in France, but came back to life in the 1960s with the creation of a campus in the South of Orléans. Since then, it has developed and expanded in the 6 administrative departments in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Today, it is composed of 3 Colleges – Law, Economics and Management (DEG) – Science and Technology (CoST) – Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences (LLSH), 4 Institutes of Technology (IUT), a National Higher School for Teaching and Education (INSPE), a Polytech School of Engineering, an Observatory of the Sciences of the Universe (OSUC) and a University School of Physiotherapy (EUK).
Famous people studied here: François Rabelais, Jean Calvin, Pierre de Fermat, Molière (Jean-Baptiste Poquelin) and many others.
